VALD

Why we use VALD technology at Keep Active Osteopathy

At Keep Active Osteopathy, our goal is to help you move better, feel stronger, and stay active for life. To do that, we combine our hands-on osteopathic care with cutting-edge assessment tools. One of those tools is the globally renowned VALD system, which brings objective, data-driven insight into your treatment journey.

What is VALD?
VALD is a sophisticated suite of measurement technologies trusted by elite sports teams, high performance settings and clinics worldwide.

With VALD we can assess things like:
  • Muscle strength and imbalances (which muscles may be weaker or doing more work than the other)
  • Power, movement patterns and how your body distributes load during functional tasks
  • Balance and symmetry — key for both injury prevention and effective rehabilitation

Why we use VALD in our clinic
  • Precision in assessment: Rather than relying solely on subjective measures or feeling how things ‘look,’ we use VALD to gather objective data. That helps us pinpoint exactly where your body may need support or correction.
  • Tailored treatment plans: With insights from VALD, our team can design a rehabilitation, strengthening or injury-prevention programme that’s specific to you — your strengths, weaknesses and goals.
  • Track progress with confidence: Having baseline data means we can monitor change over time. You’ll see how your body is improving — or where you may need to adjust direction — with clear evidence.
  • Better outcomes, sooner: Whether you’re recovering from an injury, managing a persistent pain issue, or training to optimise performance, the combination of osteopathy + VALD enables a more targeted, efficient route to your goal.

What this looks like for you
When you attend for a VALD-enhanced session at Keep Active Osteopathy, you might:
  1. Complete a brief assessment using the VALD tools (depending on your needs this could include strength tests, balance tasks or movement-analysis plates).
  2. Review the results with your osteopath — what the data shows about your body
  3. Receive a customised plan: hands-on osteopathic treatment + specific exercises or interventions that address the areas VALD identified.
  4. Re-assess as you progress: we’ll compare your new data to the baseline so you can visibly track improvement, stay motivated, and we can adjust the plan accordingly.

Who benefits
Whether you’re:
  • An athlete returning from injury and keen to make sure you’re back safely
  • Someone recovering from a musculoskeletal issue (knee, hip, back, ankle) and want to maximise your outcome
  • Living with a chronic condition and want to reduce risk of future injury
  • Just looking to move better, stronger and more confidently in your day-to-day life
